"He's A Friend"

This is a Southern Gospel type song. I wrote it while working as a receptionist in a Retirement Village, where there were many lonely people.

He's A Friend

Shine his light in the darkness.
Let His love flow through you.
Jesus cares for the lonely and blue.
Share a smile filled with gladness.
Spread a word of good news.
There is one who is waiting for you.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

Be a friend to the lonely,
Be a friend to the blue,
Lift them up to the Father in love.
Share a bouquet of flowers.
Spread a word of His truth.
Let the hope of the Lord
Shine through you.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

Jesus cares for His children.
Jesus cares for the lost.
Spread good news of the gospel to all.
He's a friend even closer
Than a brother to you,
For He loves you with His perfect love.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

"He's My Lord"

This is a song I wrote while working as a receptionist at my church. Men have cried when I sang it to them.

John 14:6

He's My Lord

He's the light in the darkness, He's my Lord.
He's the strength in my weakness, He's my Lord.
He's the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Living Word.
Jesus Christ, the son of God, He's my Lord.

He's the love in my heart, He's my Lord.
He's the song in my spirit, He's my Lord.
He is everything my heart was seeking for.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, He's my Lord.

He's the joy on the mountain, He's my Lord.
He's the peace in the valley, He's my Lord.
He's the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Living Word.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, He's my Lord.

He's my hope for the future, He's my Lord.
He's my Blessed Redeemer, He's my Lord.
He's the King of Glory coming for His Bride.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, He's my Lord.

"Like A Rose"

A Christmas Southern Gospel type song ~

Like A Rose

He was born long ago, in a manger low,
Holy child, Prince of Peace, Son of God.
Wise men bearing gifts, knelt and worshipped Him,
Offering gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Like a rose of Sharon my Jesus lives.
Ever pure, fair and lovely is He.
He's the True Living Word, the Son of God,
Full of grace, tender mercy and love.

Shepherds watching their flocks on a starry night,
Saw a glorious light fill the sky.
Then a Heavenly Host from on high appeared,
Saying "Fear not, I bring good news."
Like a rose of Sharon my Jesus lives.
Ever pure, fair and lovely is He.
He's the True Living Word, the Son of God,
Full of grace, tender mercy and love.

Unto you, now is born, in Bethlehem,
Jesus, Savior, Christ the Lord.
Then the shepherds followed the shining star,
To the place where the infant lay.
Like a rose of Sharon my Jesus lives.
Ever pure, fair and lovely is He.
He's the True Living Word, the Son of God,
Full of grace, tender mercy and love.

God so loved the world that He gave His son,
As a light in the darkness to shine.
For the gift of God is eternal life,
Through Jesus Christ His Son.
Like a rose of Sharon my Jesus lives.
Ever pure, fair and lovely is He.
He's the True Living Word, the Son of God,
Full of grace, tender mercy and love.

Whisper His Name

This song came to me one night some years ago in bed, when I was having trouble with allergies and asthma.

Whisper His Name

Whisper the name of Jesus.
He hears your every plea.
His ears are always open.
He knows your every need.
Whisper His name, that beautiful name.
Call on the name of Jesus.
His is the name above all names,
Strong mighty name of Jesus.

Whisper the name of Jesus.
He calms your every fear.
He is the light in darkness.
He gives you perfect peace.
Whisper His name, the beautiful name.
Call on the name of Jesus.
His is the name above all names,
Strong mighty name of Jesus.

Whisper the name of Jesus.
His touch can make you whole.
He has the power to save you.
He longs to hear your call.
Whisper His name, that beautiful name.
Call on the name of Jesus.
His is the name above all names,
Strong mighty name of Jesus.

Hope of Glory

Christ in us, our Hope of Glory, Jesus is our blessed hope.
He's the hope set before us, Steadfast and secure.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts,
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Jesus is the hope within us, Hope fixed on the living God.
He's our hope of salvation and eternal life.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts.
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Christ in us, our Hope of Glory, Jesus is our blessed hope.
He'll return in clouds of glory, We shall be like Him.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts.
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
