"He's A Friend"

This is a Southern Gospel type song. I wrote it while working as a receptionist in a Retirement Village, where there were many lonely people.

Hes A Friend - ©1996 by Cathy L. Simpson

He's A Friend

Shine his light in the darkness.
Let His love flow through you.
Jesus cares for the lonely and blue.
Share a smile filled with gladness.
Spread a word of good news.
There is one who is waiting for you.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

Be a friend to the lonely,
Be a friend to the blue,
Lift them up to the Father in love.
Share a bouquet of flowers.
Spread a word of His truth.
Let the hope of the Lord
Shine through you.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

Jesus cares for His children.
Jesus cares for the lost.
Spread good news of the gospel to all.
He's a friend even closer
Than a brother to you,
For He loves you with His perfect love.
He's a friend, true and faithful,
A friend by your side,
Speaking words that will lift spirits high.
God gives rest to the weary,
He gives strength to the weak,
Feeds the soul that is thirsty and dry.

Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb

Now my voice is not what it used to be, and I am not a soprano. But I tried to sing this song. To hear the full song, you will have to click "Play full song here" to go to Imeems.

Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb - ©2009 by Cathy L Simpson Wordsong Collection II

I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Jesus died for me.
He gave his life on Calvary.
He died to set me free.
I'm redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood, redeemed by the blood,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Spotless lamb of God.
Our God so loved the world that He
Gave us His only Son.
I'm redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood, redeemed by the blood,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Jesus died for me.
He took away my sins when He
Died on the cross for me.
I'm redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
Redeemed by the blood, redeemed by the blood,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

Blessed Be the Name

Blessed Be The Name - © 2009 by Cathy L. Simpson

Blessed be the Name

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Lord we worship Thee from our hearts this day,
Singing blessed be the name of the Lord.

Worthy to be praised is the Lord.
Worthy to be praised is the Lord.
Lord we worship Thee from our hearts this day,
Singing worthy to be praised is the Lord.

Magnify the name of the Lord.
Magnify the name of the Lord.
Lord we worship Thee from our hearts this day,
Singing magnify the name of the Lord.

My Peace

My Peace - © 2009 Wordsong Collection II by Cathy L. Simpson

Ps 29:11
Jn 14:27

My Peace

The Lord will give strength unto His people.
The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Just call on Him and He will answer you
With His Word ever faithful and true, saying
Peace, my peace I leave with you.
In the midst of the storm just call upon me,
And I will lift all your burdens and carry you through.
I give unto you my peace.

From Day to Day

I wrote this song when I worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier. I was not scanning fast enough. The manager told me I was "losing money." I always took time to bag things carefully too. So I wrote this song, and when I sang it to myself, I scanned really fast! You will need to click on "Play full song here " to hear this song. It is not playing right.

From Day to Day

I can do all things through my God who strengthens me,
For His strength is made perfect in my weakness.
I will call unto God for my help from day to day,
For He hears my cries and meets my every need.

He is the great I AM, Jehovah God, El Shaddiah.
Nothing is impossible for Him.
His is the name above all names, in heaven and on earth.
There is power in the mighty name of God.

Jesus gives me love, joy and peace from day to day.
I will praise God and give Him thanks in everything.
The Holy Spirit of my God leads me day by day,
As He brings to my remembrance things of God.

He is the great I AM, Jehovah God, El Shaddiah.
Nothing is impossible for Him.
His is the name above all names, in heaven and on earth.
There is power in the mighty name of God.

Hope of Glory

This is a hymn that I wrote in 1993. You will have to click on "Play the full song" to hear the end of it. The music only plays for 30 seconds. I think that has something to do with the copyright.

Col 1:27 -
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Hope of Glory

Christ in us, our Hope of Glory, Jesus is our blessed hope.
He's the hope set before us, Steadfast and secure.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts,
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Jesus is the hope within us, Hope fixed on the living God.
He's our hope of salvation and eternal life.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts.
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Christ in us, our Hope of Glory, Jesus is our blessed hope.
He'll return in clouds of glory, We shall be like Him.
Jesus is our blessed hope, Living in our hearts.
He's the anchor of our souls, Steadfast and secure.

Call Unto the Lord

This is a song I wrote years ago. I remember playing it when my daughter was commuting to work in another town. And I believe it and other songs protected her. Please click on "Play full song here" to listen to the song.

Call Unto the Lord

Call unto the Lord, and He will answer Thee,
And show Thee great and mighty things, in His name.
Humble thyself and call upon His name,
And he will deliver thee, for there is
Power in His name, power in His touch,
Power in the hands of the Lord, our God.
Humble thyself and call unto the Lord, and He will answer thee.

Call unto the Lord, and He will answer thee,
And show thee great and mighty things, in His name.
Humble thyself and call upon His name,
And He will deliver thee, for there is
Healing in His name, healing in His touch,
Healing in the hands of the Lord, our God.
Humble theyself and call unto the Lord, and He will answer thee.
